The Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) is a globally-recognised centre of excellence in innovative manufacturing technologies, R&D, and metal forming and forging research.

We work with all types of organisations: from global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) all the way through to local manufacturing companies.

We’re at the heart of Scotland’s manufacturing research and development sector and are the country’s only High Value Manufacturing Catapult centre; one of only seven in the UK.

The AFRC supports manufacturing businesses of all shapes and sizes. We help them to increase their competitiveness through taking a structured approach to innovation.

We de-risk and accelerate the introduction of new technologies, materials and processes and help companies turn the art of innovation into a science.
